We had just called it a day and were preparing lovely ramen soup (yet again!) when these two showed up and brought their friends with them to beg for samples. I think they are some pheasant species - indeed, they are Tibetan Snowcock (Tetraogallus tibetanus). October 2005

Voted 10/10 | I looked the bird up in my copy of Birds of Nepal since I wasn't sure. I just checked my journal and I saw these birds at Pangpema out by Kangchenjunga, but I didn't get a good photo like this. Thanks for posting.
