While on Lyell, I was fascinated by its glacier, sky pilots, Ritter and Banner view. On Maclure the emphasis shifts to the lakes. I was so taken by some of them that decided to visit them on my way back to the trailhead instead of taking the trail. This made my trip even longer and even more worthwhile.
