Simmons Peak form One of the Meadows Below [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Simmons Peak form One of the Meadows Below
How many alpine meadows were there? I don't know, I lost count. One meadow after another, each beautiful in its own way. It was a relief to see colors other than white, grey, brown, and blue that monopolized the higher ground. One of the excitements of mountain travel is the return journey, when we get back to the realm of living things from the rigid beauty of the peaks that lie beyond our comfort zone.
Lyell and Maclure. California. July 14, 2007. 6 pm.
