Potosi Peak Descent Route [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Potosi Peak Descent Route
SP member Kane descends a challenging scree and hardpan gully that is more dangerous than it appears. Try to stay in the deeper scree if possible, to avoid slipping and sliding down this possibly dangerous gully. Despite the uneasy footing, this is the most reasonable descent route off of the complex Potosi Peak. Experience with loose rock, preferably in the San Juans, is recommended. Summer, 2007. San Juan Mountains.
