Jura Knob [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Jura Knob
Jura Knob (center) is seen from Engineer Mountain in this gorgeous view looking almost directly north. The reverse of this view can be seen HERE. Jura Knob is unlike most San Juan summits, as it is a gentle mountain with very few rugged aspects to it, but the views are phenominal. The route to the mountain is a fun one, involving a bushwhack and some Class 2-3 scrambling in a remote area of the San Juans. Chances for viewing wildlife in this lush, untrodden area are pretty good, too. San Juan Mountains, Summer, 2007.

Hi Jack-Yeah it's a pretty place alright. Easy to get to as well-right off the Engineer Mountain trail! Wildflower city up there!
