Orange Kings Crown on Potosi Peak [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Orange Kings Crown on Potosi Peak
Apparently rare orange Kings Crown (usually red) was found on the side of Potosi Peak during our descent, along with a host of thousands of wildflowers in this unexpectedly lush environment on the mountain's exposed western slopes. It was quite the find and really added a bright spot to an already bright day. Summer, 2007, San Juan Mountains.

Nice to stumble onto things like that. It makes the hike, and day!
