On South Loop
From here the South Loop trail heads up towards the Echo Canyon through a pleasant and pretty pine forest. The dominant trees are white furs and ponderosa pines.
Once in Echo Canyon, you will notice lots of aspens.
Look around also for Palmer's chipmunks and golden-mantled ground squirrels.
There are lots of them here in the summer.
