Trail back by Lake of the Woods
On the way back to the trailhead from Cracked Crag, we went by "Lake of the Woods" and were greeted by beautiful wildflowers. (July 29, 2007)

How lucky! It looks like you hit the Fireweed ( it sure looks like Fireweed) in full bloom. What a beautiful picture. One of my very favorite Wildflowers..

Thank you for your kind words! We were loving the Fireweed hillsides. By the way, if you ever want to go hiking or climbing with us, let me know. We're just down the 50 from you in Cameron Park. :)

Hi from up the hill from you! :) How nice that you are pretty close to here..That Fireweed hillside is stunning..I wish I could have seen it..probably going to be past prime by now, the Fireweed we have in our yard is almost past prime..I have been enjoying the last color! Thank you very much for the invitation on hiking sometime..that would be nice..I may be going out of Wrights Lake for a hike soon..If I do go I will send you a PM.
Thank you again..hope it has not been to HOT down there...it was very cool here last night
