Voted 10/10 | The area around the cirque seems out of place with the jagged back drop. Very pretty! | | Posted Aug 3, 2007 6:50 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thank you! The backdrop is the Cottonwood Ridge on the other side of Little Cottonwood Canyon, and along with the dark-colored portion of the photo on the right, is much older rock than the granitic formation of the foreground (and up to the red/gray boundary in the background), which has its unique character, and is probably my favorite part of the Wasatch. | | Posted Aug 4, 2007 2:28 am |

Voted 10/10 | I was wondering about this. One theory I wonder about is that the glaciers ('caused by north-facing snow that didn't melt) carved out this sweet canyon, and the farside, being south-facing, had its erosion done by melting snow crashing down, creating more rivelet-like gullies. Glaciers in the foreground, melt-water in the back. hmmmmmmmm. I'm gone ah make a t-shirt about it, and make millions. | | Posted Apr 22, 2008 12:55 am |
