Nevada ghost town
With the Independence Mountains in the background, an old sign in the ghost town of Tuscarora, Nevada, points to "ELKO-52MI". In 1878, Tuscarora's population was 5,000, greater than Elko, the county seat. Today, the population in Tuscarora is about 20. Photo taken 7/22/07.
