The Storm Wall [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
The Storm Wall
Shooting into the teeth of 40+ mph winds whipping up big waves on along the shore of Glacier's St. Mary lake last November, just as the biggest storm in a decade rolled in and flooded much of the park. I felt the cool-toned B&W rendition best represented the scene.

I agree completely on the choice for using B&W. Within the next few weeks I'll be doing major additions/changes to the GNP page--your work is terrific; here's hoping you have more to submit!!!

(That "Pineapple Express" resulted in 11 inches of rain, and some of the most impressive flooding photos I've ever seen--it was quite the deal!)

The 100mph winds did some serious damage too! And Rainier National Park was hit even worse perhaps, with all park roads closed after 18 inches fell in 36 hours!

I failed.
They are all really good. This one and "Winter's Fury" are my favorites.

How do you get such a clear shot in high winds? Are the waves blurred on Photoshop or is it a long exposure? either way it turns out into a very powerful photo, nice job!
