Last rays of the setting sun on Griffith Peak [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Last rays of the setting sun on Griffith Peak
This is the summit of Griffith Peak in sunset light.
Bristlecone pine is in the foreground. In distance you can see Mummy Mountain kissed by the parting sun.

I took this photo on January 5, 2006. We descended in the dark through powder snow and in the company of the Moon above. It was one of the most enjoyable descents I can remember. I miss hiking at night.
Enjoy my whole slideshow of this winter day: Griffith via Echo Canyon for the sunset

Spring Mountains, Nevada.

Thank you. It was a wonderful evening with no wind. Windless nights are rare in the Spring Mountains in winter, so we lucked out.
