funnily enough this valley is entiarly surrounded by trees, for some reason its just the sides and bottmos that aren't.

Nothing so fancy, the bedrock here is pretty uniform - mostly silurian mudstone.

So the brook doesn't actually disappear under the ground, just looks as if it did, from a distance? Plus some nival erosion around the falls?
