Usually a really bad smell. I got lucky on this day and it wasn't too bad. This photo was taken below the hogsback of the south side route up hood. The base of crater rock is in the background. Go in fall or late summer or you won't know it's there. FYI, it's only a few feet across, probably smaller than you may think.
