Soni Pokush, west slopes
Soni Pokush, 6951 m. (other names: Sani Pokkush) As seen from west. Soni Pokush means "The Queen" or "Princess" in Burushaski Language. It is said to be already climbed, however local villagers, porters and guides claim none of the expeditions made it to the summit and it is still unclimbed.

There's an unclimbed ridge on this peak I've been meaning to attempt for a long time. Hopefully next summer!

The peak definately got climbed by some Germans in 1991. The route took I think is visible in this photo. They climbed from the East Kukuar (Kukuay) Glacier to a col left of the summit, then climbed the NW Ridge. There is a fantastic looking ridge on the Batura side that I might try in 2008 as think I will be in that general area.

I know about German expedition, but villagers (including Shahid Alam Nagari from Bar - I recommend this porter, who worked with expeditions) claims, they did not made it to the summit. But it may not be true as well. Who cares... ? :) ha ha

PS. What are Your plans / aims in this region ?

The confusion arises because the Germans reported that they stopped a few metres from the very top due to an unstable cornice. Mabye 5m or something? So they didn't stand right on top, but basically they climbed it.
