On the descent, I snapped...
On the descent, I snapped this photo of the area of the West Face we ascended. The photo is almost level. At its steepest, the angle was about 65 degrees. From a belay at the bottom left, I led out placing two pickets to the top, which was a corniced crest. From the crest, I bore rightward about 100 feet to the summit snow dome. Photo taken May 26, 2003.

Did you use a regular ax here or a small one?

I used a regular axe in so much as I don't have a small one. Given the steepness of that face, the longer the better. Two of the three axes used are visible in this photo.
