I gut lucky on a flight from Dallas to Portland in the winter and flew right across the top of the Blanca Massif. What a view!

I am not 100% sure but Lindsey may be at the bottom left 1/4 of the photo. Blanca is in the middle, Ellingwood is to the right of Blanca, and Little Bear is up and to the left of Blanca.

RyanSStunning!

You got to shoot the Blanca/Ellingwood wall head-on from a plane, you dog! The Blanca/Little Bear ridge looks extraordinarily thin from this angle, doesn't it?

You're right about Lindsey, btw.

The Blanca/Lindsey ridge looks like it is over twice as long as the Blanca/Little Bear ridge which is 1 1/2 miles. I guess that would mean about 4 miles from Blanca to Lindsey.

Superb photo! You are correct about the connecting ridge from Lindsey to Blanca. For the most part it is on solid ground until you begin up Blanca itself at which point you would be on the route known as Gash Ridge.

Nice shot and addition to the page!!

dherrera96Don't forget Hamilton Peak and the Twin Peaks

Hamilton Peak (13,658') is in the middle left 1/3 of the photo. There is an unknown 13er just to the lower left of Hamilton Peak. (When looking north from Ft. Garland or San Luis, this is a flat peak that is right of Hamilton Peak and left of Mt. Lindsey/Iron Nipple.) The Twin Peaks (13,580' and 13,534') are just right of center in the upper 1/3. I think the curvy ridge coming from Ellingwood Point leads to an unnamed 13er, and (I'm not exactly sure, but)I THINK California Peak (13,849') MIGHT be the peak just above center on the right 1/3. WOW, EXCELLENT PHOTO, even considering it was taken from an airplane!! "Lucky" sure is the perfect word to describe this photo!!
