It seems like very little snow for so late in the year.

Jon,

Very astute observation. There was indeed very little snow for that time of year. This was just about two weeks after a huge and violent rainstorm had swept through the North Cascades and taken out many roads and trails, including a section of the Pacific Crest Trail near Glacier Peak. The snow came late that year.
