On the 3km long and 1km wide...

On the 3km long and 1km wide Javornik, undulating grassy valley which is placed in the depresion of inner South Velebit and closed by seaboard and continental streaks of peaks. Altitude of Javornik is around 1300m. It takes around and hour to cross it on the way from Visocica (1619m) to Struge refuge (6h). Photo was taken in January when temperature was -15°C and 2 meters of snow were hard packed which is usuall on Velebit. Conditions for walking are perfect and all you leave behind are dots of crampon points. These are very lonely spots even in summer where chance of meeting someone is close to zero percent. In winter it is such wilderness where you feel like there is no one else anywhere in the world. Photo: Aleksandar Gospic

Excellent experiment in depth!

I love the "floating" appearance of the climbers in your photo.

Re: Excellent experiment in depth!

Thank You Jon! I noticed this and asked Dino to stop and pose. Difference in position between him and other two climbers gives fantastic sense of space. If it was just him or them you would think that distance between these two points is maybe few yards not to mention altitude difference which would hardly be noticeable.
