Cerro de Tocotocare (5835m - Bolivia) [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Cerro de Tocotocare (5835m - Bolivia)
Cerro Tocotocare is at the very back, and part of the Cordillera Occidental on the Bolivian side. It is close to Laguna Colorada (4290m), which explains the presence of salt formation on the foreground. The picture was taken by the lake at sunrise.

NB : The altitude of the mountain was measured with Google Earth

the starkness of the mountains against the white of the salt is very strange but eerily beautiful. Reminds me of Namibia.

Great antoine! Wish I was standing there!! So different from being in the Alps at 4200m. Standing by a lake at the same height as the top of for instance Finsteraarhorn! Must be great I guess!
Great pic! Cheers and talk to you soon! cheers!
