Permanent ice field on the southeast face of Lassen Peak, CA. The trail to the top (but not the true summit) follows along the outside of the ridgeline on the left in the image. It ends just before the ice field that straddles the mountain at the top. The true summit is across that ice field and up a talus-covered slope. It is just out of view near the prominence in the upper-center of the image.
