Texas Horned Lizard
Texas Horned Lizard (Phrynosoma cornutum) near Hillsboro, New Mexico. The easiest means of identification of these lizards are the two long horns, a double row of fringe scales on each side, and a prominent white mid-dorsal stripe that runs from the base of the head to the tail.
