This was the first image I...
This was the first image I took of the sunrise sequence on a super long exposure using velvia. The saturation of color comes from such a technique, used in conjunction with a small aperture and push processing. Many people who have seen this image accused me wrongly of having used a filter. I learnt these methods from Galen Rowells' books, after having read each of them about a dozen times. It helped to be in the right place at the right time as well (Cotopaxi - Dave Hancock/Field Touring)

Even if you would have used a filter..... Why bother what people are saying. It's just a magnificent photo!
