Morning Light on Kings Peak from Henry's Fork [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Morning Light on Kings Peak from Henry's Fork
The night took forever as the sun sets at 7:30 in mid-September, so I popped up as the light finally filled the basin at 6:50 am. This was the view that greeted me as I unzipped the tent door. I had mixed emotions as I was ready for the summit bid, but also dreading the big day ahead.

"There's a land where the mountains are nameless, And the rivers all run god knows where; There are lives that are erring and aimless, And deaths that just hang by a hair; There are hardships that nobody reckons; There are valleys unpeopled and still; There's a land-oh it beckons and beckons, And I want to go back and I will."   --Robert Service
