Looking across the "front chutes" from the NE ridge of Mount Tallac, with Fallen Leaf Lake below. This shot gives you an idea of the steepness of these chutes. The steep slope in front of the prominent rock gendarme is known as "hanging face". More good skiing can be had on Trimmer Peak and Freel Peak, seen in the background here. April 2002.
