Signing his first register
My 9 year old grandson was pretty excited to sign his first register. His comments about how "fun" it was to hike 5 miles in the snow and that he couldn't wait until his next peak leads me to believe that he is hooked already.

It was fun to watch him and also because I don't get to do much (in the mountains) with any of my grandkids.

Snow in Oregon? Of course Oregon gets snow, a lot of it. However, this year, snow seems to be scarce everywhere. We did have some snow on this hike, which was a real plus for my grandson, he felt like he really accomplished something (and he did). thanks for you nice comments.
