Bailey Mountain [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Bailey Mountain
The Bailey Mountain Trail is this old roadbed for a ways and the forest service hasn't kept up on their maintenance. I guess they figure no one wants to hike through this burned over forest. Hey, it's still a wilderness isn't it? 6 October 2007

At the time it was the largest fire ever recorded in the US at 500,000 acres. The Kalmiopsis Wilderness is "only" 179,755 acres and was completely burned over except for some islands of trees that somehow survived.
