The route is safewr and shorter, if you

walk from the Aletschgletscher to Riederfurka (2065 m) than to Bettmergrat (2643 m). What do do on Bettmergrat if you miss the last chairlift at 6 pm? At Riederalp you might find a bed or a cable car as late as 9 pm.
