The Chin of Mt Mansfield [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
The Chin of Mt Mansfield
The top of Mt Mansfield as seen from the ridge between the nose and the chin. Mt Mansfield is located in the Green Mountains and is the highest mountain in Vermont. The ridge-line that runs from the forehead to the chin is over two miles long and is the largest section of alpine zone in all of Vermont. I really began to respect Mt Mansfield after I had carried a 30lb pack on my back to the top coming from the south. This was day 21 of 28 on the Long Trail.

I have never been to Mt Mansfield when there has been snow on it. I would love to see it. It's still a great mountain in the summertime.
