This is Big Jay as seen from Jay Peak in the Green Mountains of Vermont. The photo was actually taken from a ski slope a short ways from the summit of Jay Peak. I really like the fence in the foreground and the hazy mountains in the background, which includes Mt Mansfield to the left of Big Jay. Once atop Jay Peak, the Long Trail is only about 10 miles until the Canadian border. We were getting very excited about finishing our trek on the Long Trail at this point. This was day 27 of 28 on the Long Trail.
