From your pics and lack of detailed directions (wisely so), I would say you have found some of the best places in AZ. I would love to explore some of the tributary canyons of the Salt along the Mogollon Rim some day in the not-too-distant.

nearly 20 years, so if I don't know of "some
of the best places in AZ," then there's
something wrong.
Suggest you try Woods Canyon Lake atop AZ's
Mogollon Rim if you're looking for trout.
Really easy to find. Right off of Hwy 260.
I don't want to give out too much information, because that would be cheating!
