The vast majority of my mountain photos are big panoramas of soaring peaks, or huge sunsets. But one day, while walking with friends across Kinder Scout in the English Peak District, I looked down at my feet and saw this effect. I was instantly hypnotised by the patterns made by the light and ripples over the river gravels.
