Allen Mountain [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Allen Mountain
Descent terrain as seen from the summit ridge of Allen Mountain. In the bottom left hand corner is a gully. Aim to just right of the gully and descend to it. This route is also an ascent route, but heavy brush makes the Greak Break route, via Snow Moon Basin, the preferred choice. In the distance are Mount Wilbur, Ipasha Peak and Mount Merritt, one of Glacier's big 10,000 footers. Grinnell Point rises abruptly from Josephine Lake's tranquil shores. 2006 GMS ascent of Allen Mountain, Glacier National Park.
