Allen Mountain, Descent [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Allen Mountain, Descent
After descending over 1500 feet of scree and hardpan, either follow this gully (Class 3) or contour along it to a cliff band. Once at the cliff band, you need to get below it. Exiting the gully is a Class 4 endeavor, or contour north on talus and krumholz to a break in the cliffs (Class 3) and descend to the next level. 2006 GMS ascent of Allen Mountain, Glacier National Park.
