On the D.C. route, this shot was taken near the 13K mark. The blue blue skies was due to my inability to get the scan from the slide right. Anyone remember that song by Perry Como, "The bluest skies you'll ever see are in Seattle" ? Scanned from ASA 25 kodak slide. 8-11-69

the song indeed. Do you remember
the song, "Godzilla Ate Tukwilla?"

Gotta love those suncups. I can
remember them from 1984 - pretty
much at the same location.

Some things never change.

Never heard that song Larry. The suncups can be magical.

I did notice that and I also noted that the forests are all black. of course, fire will do that to a forest. Arizona has the corner on black pine forests.

Dean ... I'm not even going to go there.

I have one image involving wildfire, and it hasn't even got a nod or a wink.

I'll put it this way, Gilbert the Moose is like superman compared to my humble image. :^) !!! HE WINKS, too! (The bronze one doesn't wink.) Good night, Dean.
