Cosby Knob Shelter [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Cosby Knob Shelter
Be it ever so humble . . . there's no place like home for the night.

This is the newly-refurbished Cosby Knob Shelter on the AT in the Great Smoky Mountains NP, November 2007. The tarp needs refurbishing but it's otherwise a very nice shelter. The nearby spring was supposedly running at 3 quarts a minute despite the drought but it just looked like ample pools of still water to me.

Both bear cables were intact and there's a composting privy nearby. The height of backcountry comfort.
