Wilson Peak Southwest Ridge [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Wilson Peak Southwest Ridge
SP member mtnhiker13 descends the climber's trail over rickety talus, typical of the San Miguel mountains on Wilson Peak's Southwest Ridge route. Mighty El Diente Peak rises in the background. Note the patch of snow in the lower left. This persistent snow is often present and can be an obstacle for inexperienced climbers. Ice axe, crampons, helmet, gloves and good hiking boots are all recmmended for this climb. San Juan Mountains, San Miguel Range, Summer, 2007.
