Sundog, 5.10a [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Sundog, 5.10a
Pitches 5, 6 and 7. The good rock on Sundog more than makes up for the route finding issue on Horndogger however and the combined 8 pitches make for a wonderful winter outing at Red Rocks. Due to the routes south facing position on Rainbow Mountain, the entire route received good sun most of the day. There are better routes to climb in the fall and spring and this route would not be considered for a summer outing at Red Rocks.
Horndogger Select to Sundog, 8 pitches in total, 5.10a, Rainbow Mountain, Red Rocks, NV, November, 2007

""You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know.""   --Rene Daumal
