Canaan Mountain is one of my favorite hikes. You begin in Hildale (pligamist city) and hike through Water Canyon and then up to Canaan Mountain. You can hike for a while and turn around or go all the way to Rockville which is just south of Zion National Park.

Does Water Canyon always have running
water? Don't you have to go OVER the
Vermillion Cliffs to get to Canaan Mtn.,
or can you just hike up Water Canyon???
What are we looking at as far as mileage,
from Hildale to the BASE of Canaan Mountain?

Hasn't voted | Water Canyon does have running water. Check out the big waterfalls titled Water Canyon in my album. It is also a canyoneering route. You park in Hildale and hike up Water Canyon to get there. It's not long in miles to get to 'Top Rock', but it's sure steep! A good hike to get the heart pumping.
