A close up of the last segment of the NE Ridge of Kyes Peak in late September 2001. Basically, though we didn't go up there due to lack of daylight, you want to ascend up the fringe of the glacier to where it steepens considerably at the crevasses. With crampons, it would then be possible to climb up to the notch behind the tower at left-center. From there, the route finishes (low class 5) around the corner on the light-gray rock (volcanic breccia). Or, it is conjectured there may be a route along the grassy ledge to the bottom-left corner of the picture then up the rocky gully to the left side of the tower. Comments [ Post a Comment ]
