Prominent Point from the South East [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Prominent Point from the South East
This shows Prominent Point from the South East. The Main and Western summits almost blend together here. The sharp point to the right of the summit is Finger Rock. Perhaps the most straighforward way to climb the main summit is to go up the steep canyon directly below Finger Rock, past a narrow 4th class constriction, then work to the left below steep cliffs guarding the summit area of Prominent Point (out of Finger Rock Canyon). One to the west of these cliffs, there is a gash that goes up to the East (right) of the Eastern (main) summit - the gash is not visible in this photo. Take this to the ridge line, then work west up steep scrambling to the true summit.
