Flying east from Santiago to... [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Flying east from Santiago to...
Flying east from Santiago to Mendoza you pass south of the high peaks. This poses a photographic problem but you can see all the big ones lined up at one point before you start the descent to Mendoza. I have named them, the only one I am not 100% sure on is Mesa. But it looks like a table to me from this vantage point. November 28, 2003. William Marler. Nikon Cool Pics 5000.

Did you get lucky and have your seat on the right side of the plane or was the plane not full so you could go find a good seat. Those are great shots from a plane. My parents just got back from Santiago and they said that was a beautiful city.

When you travel from Santiago to Mendoza you need to sit in the left hand side of the plane. The flight pattern for this one is quite far south of the peaks. But you can still see them fairly well. On the way back Mendoza to Santiago you must thereforebe on the right hand side. You fily very close on this flight. You should try and get in the tail or right at the front to avoid wing issues. I just asked and I got the seats I wanted even though the aircraft was fairly full. I probably got them because I made them laugh with my crude Spanish. Cheers William
