On the Tundra [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
On the Tundra
Above treeline, many peaks of the Front Range are littered with beautiful pieces of quartzite like this one. Ones I have seen range from pebble-sized to the size of a compact car. This one is about hand-sized (with fingers outstretched). These rocks sparkle in the sun, and I think of them as mountain jewelry.
