First Climbed on August 20, 1964, THE WINDOW was the Very First "A4" Rated Route on Devils Tower, Wyoming. Of Course it was Established by the Amazing Royal Robbins. For 14 Years Numerous Parties Tried for the 2nd Ascent, Though All Bailed Out Before the Roof. The 2nd Ascent was Done on July 4th, 1978 by Terry Rypkema, Steve Gardiner, Chris Ballinger, and Frank Sanders Rock Climber. Sanders, Who Led the Roof Pitch, Reported that the Key Was, "...Getting Too Scared to Fall...". This is a Beautiful, Though NOT Often Repeated Route.Devils Tower, Wyoming.
