Tarn at Jumbo Pass
A pleasant August morning in the spectacular Purcells. The prominent Jumbo/Karnak double summit is at centre with the Lieutenants to its left.

Thanks Ejnar :) This was one of the great Austrian guide Conrad Kain's favourite places. He made the first ascent of Jumbo and Karnak in 1915-1916

You have some really nice mountains and forests - way up north, in your special part of the world. Does the water from all of these
snowfields and glaciers flow into the Columbia River? That's a mighty river! Very beautiful!

Thank You. Yep, much of the precipitation that falls in the Columbia Mountains in Canada finds its way into the Columbia River. Dutch Creek is the actual headwaters located a little south of Jumbo Pass.
