In 1976 !
A cloud casts a shadow on "the lighthouse of the Mediterranean,"a stratavolcano in the Mediterranean Sea. I took this photo from the stern of a seafaring vessel just off the north coast of Sicily in Aug. 1976.
(Two seabirds can be seen to the left of the volcano.) Stromboli is a very active volcano, as evidenced by the "lava channels" along the volcanoes' flanks. It was apparently passive when our ship passed by.

You're welcome! It was kind of quiet
when we went steaming past on our ship;
32 years ago.
Thanks for all the great memories! :)
