Snow Canyon [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Snow Canyon
Yes, there is hiking in Snow Canyon....my wife always complains she can't get me to "just" go hiking anymore....not true, took the in-laws on my regular back country "loop trail run" behind Tuacahn, a famous state chartered High School for the performing arts. Incredible slick rock, iced up waterfalls, hidden pools, etc. lead from behind the school through to Hidden Ponds, up a wash and back around the eastern flank. A loop I can do from my home. "Tuacahn" comes from a Mayan word meaning "Canyon of the Gods."

""You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know.""   --Rene Daumal
