Did you have to pay to tour the private 4000 meter Sangre?

Nope. The guy who owns this doesn't allow climbing, except for a few from the Colorado Mountain Club once or twice a year.

O, and when I did it, it was still the Taylor Ranch. I think it was $25. Not bad considering they had to maintain the road up to the trailhead.

Yeah, just a cheap trade-off when considering the millions of dollars the Taylors were making by clear-cutting the timber on their land.

Great shot, and you're got the arrows correct. Have you not done Trinchera? Was reading the Message Board you and jgsman had going. Got the impression you (and him too) had not done Trinchera. I'd be interested in hitting it again sometime next season. BTW...I put up a labeled pic of the Culebra Range from West Spanish Peak.

Nope. I haven't done Trinchera but I wouldn't mind doing so. I am usually in the area several times a year since my dad lives in Red River, NM. I'll let you know when I'm up.

slowbutsteadyMariquita ??

Voted 10/10

I believe the peak you have labeled as Maxwell might be Mariquita. Maxwell seems to be just visible between Cuatro and Mariquita. I have been close to the summit of Maxwell and recall looking over to Mariquita and wishing the peak was not on private land. Regards.......C. Baxter
