Nunvuk Mountain looks like a cinder cone volcano, rising above the shores of Lake Aleknagik opposite JackKnife Mountain~July 19, 2005~

flower," they said it was
definitely fireweed. I guess
the purple flowers drop off
in late summer, and the stalks
and leaves turn a bright red.
