thanks again, the dog was a bit fortuitous I guess, but its nice to get a bit of luck when taking a snapshot.
There are plenty of bars in Gavarnie but we didn't really get time for a pub crawl, too busy trying to crawl up the hills.

yep you're right, that is the place, there are a lot of hills around 3000 metres so there's lots to do, the ones in the background are on the Cirque de Gavarnie which has some impressive waterfalls. I've not been there in winter but I imagine the ice clmbing would be amazing.
